Olimpíada do Conhecimento
What is the Olimpíada do Conhecimento?
It's a professional education competition. States from all over Brazil select one or more competitors for each occupation taking part in this contest to compete for the long-dreamed-of spot in the international WorldSkills competition.
The Olimpíada do Conhecimento is also known as the national qualifier for WorldSkills, which is the largest professional education competition in the world. It's recognized for inspiring many young competitors around the world, testing their skills and knowledge according to their occupation with a gold standard of excellence.
What does the competitors' training process look like?
For each occupation within the Olimpíada do Conhecimento there's a dedicated training process. In general, each competitor has a two-year period to prepare for the competition, during which they go through a series of intensive training sessions, with tests and mock exams to evaluate their skills and knowledge in the field of their occupation.
None of this process would be possible without a trainer. The trainer is a fundamental part of the competitor's development during the preparation for the Olimpíada do Conhecimento. That's why each competitor is supported by a trainer who guides them with methods, strategies, and techniques so they can be capable and ready for the contest.
Fun facts
The 43rd WorldSkills Competition took place at Anhembi Parque, São Paulo, Brazil, from August 11 to 16, 2015, the only edition ever held in Latin America.
The Olimpíada do Conhecimento was a large event that took place over the course of one week in a single venue, bringing together competitors from all the participating states.
Internal exchanges between states used to happen to hold small contests in preparation for the Olimpíada do Conhecimento, but during the pandemic they were suspended for a while.
Conclusion
